I am delighted to welcome you to Kathiani Girls’ High School. The demand to expand the opportunities for girl-child is so enormous but I am convinced that Kathiani Girls’ is up to the task.
Kathiani Girls’ High School was conceived by local leaders led by the late Rtd General J. K. Mulinge in the mid-1990s to expand the opportunities of girl-child in Kathiani and Kenya as a whole. This vision was realized in 1999 when the school admitted the first 80 students in form one.
To ensure that the school’s development is grounded on sound management principles, the school often prepare periodical strategic plans. The school strategic plans are often rooted in the deep desire to transform Kathiani Girls’ High School into a “Premier Learning Institution” to enable the girl-child of the 21st century face life with confidence.
The school has attained sustainable growth in its key development indicators such as performance, discipline, governance, management style and expansion. From the effects made, the school was earmarked by the Ministry of Education Science and Technology (MOEST) to be a National School representing Machakos County in 2011. This National Standard was realized in the financial year (FY) 2014/2015 when the government released funds to upgrade various school facilities
